On the occasion of the 8th International Yoga Day, a two-day free health check-up camp was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, United Institute of Medical Sciences (UIMS), Rawatpur, Prayagraj. The camp ended on Wednesday. Interestingly, as many as 250 patients received treatment at the camp.
The camp was organized by Urban Health Training Center (UHTC) and Rural Health Training Center (RHTC) at Sheikh Sarwa village of Bamrauli and Rehi Miya Ka Purva village of Naini respectively.
RHTC in-charge Dr. Anuj Singh informed the media that the men, women, and children who attended the camp were made aware of the benefits of yoga in improving lifestyle and health.
He further said that the patients were also given suggestions for practising a couple of asanas such as Surya Namaskar, Pranayama, Anulom-Vilom to stay healthy and fit.
UHTC in-charge Dr. Nitin Kumar Singh also told the news daily that the patients suffering from health problems like seasonal flu, diabetes, hypertension, weakness, malnutrition, and other diseases were recommended tests and given medicines.
On this occasion, a yoga practice session was also organized at United Medicity and UIMS in which several doctors and the university faculty members participated. The event was led by yoga experts Parmanand Kushwaha and Rahu.
